Lydia Chebbine (she/they) is a photo editor and artist based in Washington, D.C. She was born in Algiers, Algeria and grew up in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. She speaks French, Arabic and English though her preferred tongue is Franglish.

She’s the photo editor at The 19th, and independent, nonprofit newsroom reporting on gender, politics and policy.
